When you first log into Mal's you'll land on your the admin main page. On the right you'll see the box with the option to turn on mTracker.
Put a check in the box and click "UPDATE"
After you've turned it on ( set up your account to show mTracker ) You'll see the mTracker tab on your Mal's admin home page.
Click that to set things up.
Click "Setup" to expand the menu, then click "Setup Program"
You first want to name the program (1) , then put a short description (2) for it ( if you want ) and enter the web address (3) for any page you've set for your affiliates that gives them more info on the program, such as how they get paid, how much they'll get paid..etc. This can be a page you've created in your MM storeadmin or the actual MM Affiliate page. Whichever it is, you'd want to include some info about the program and what they can expect. If you need help, or ideas, with what info to include on the page you'll be able to find someone to give you suggests on the forums
Enter how much you want to pay the affiliate (1) - you can choose either a fixed amount or a percent of the sale. Then lastly, decide how long the cookie should last (2) The longer the better for your affiliates.
Click "Update Program"
(1) Click "Setup Links"
(2) Enter the URL (without http://) you would like the links (on the affiliates pages ) to click through to. This can be to your main page, to your catalog page..to any page you want the the affiliate's customers to land.
You can set up any type of links you want - banner or text - the above image is an example of how to set up each.
(3) Text link - Just put the wording you want and surround the clickable part with an before it and an {/a} after it, as shown above. You only need plain text, no HTML or code other then the and {/a} - exactly like the example above.
(4) For a banner link you want to first upload your image/banner via either FTP or the cpanel File Manager, then put the link to it in the form field marked URL.. The address for your banner will be something like http://mydomainname.com/images/mybanner.gif
This would mean that you have banner named mybanner.gif and it's in the folder named images
You would put the image's measurements and for the alt text put in a keyword phrase (or 2 ) while naming the purpose of the banner, or what the banner is. Example: Click here for unique homemade jewelry.
Remember that the purpose of alt tags is actually text to be displayed when the image to which it is applied cannot be rendered...like if the visitor chooses to not show images for faster surfing, or by people with disabilities ( using screen readers ), people using handheld devices...etc.
