Merchantmoms system works with the Mals-E shopping cart system. You can sign up for a Mals-E cart at http://www.mals-e.com. Once the cart is activated and configured, you will need to make a few changes to the system for your MM system to work properly.
Please Note that you will have to set up any shipping, taxas, order notifcations, required fields and payment methods - this is ONLY the basic set up that will allow Mal's Ecommerce to send info on new orders back to your site.
- Access the Mals-E cart (there is a link within the store administration area).
- Append the cart variables as described below:
- Log in to your Mals-E account.
- Click the "Cart Set-Up" tab.
- Select "Customize" ( in either the left hand menu or middle content area )
- Select "Continue shopping button".
- Make sure the box marked "Append cart content vars" is selected. ( you can the leave the rest at the default settings )
- Save your configuration.
- To use inventory control, order tracking, wish lists or gift certificates, set up the remote call page as described below:
- Log in to your Mals-E account.
- Click the "Cart Set-Up" tab.
- Select "Advanced Settings" ( in either the left hand menu or the middle content area )
- Select "Remote Call".
- In the form field available add the URL: yoursite.com/go/finish.php, where you replace "yoursite" with your actual site name. ie.) If your site is windywillows.com, use windywillows.com/go/finish.php.
- Do NOT add http:// to the beginning of the URL.
- Method: Choose POST as the method if you have large orders that come through regularly, otherwise use GET.
- Do NOT select "Debug mode".
- Save your configuration.
- IMPORTANT: If you use PayPal on this site, you must follow the PayPal setup instructions to make sure a customer is taken back to the cart after an order!
- Test the setup by placing a few test orders, using gift certificates, wish lists, or inventory control. Also check to make sure your order came through for order tracking.
